Custom allowances and coin exclusions
Give some people or teams a different allowance, or stop someone giving or receiving coins.
Who can use this: Owners and admins. Members need the Members permission; teams need the Teams permission; exclusions need the Rewards permission.
For one person#
- Go to Manage → Members.
- Open the ⋯ menu next to the person and choose Edit.
- Enter a Custom allowance. Leave it empty to use their team's or the company default.
- Click Save changes.
For a team#
- Go to Manage → Teams and edit the team.
- Enter a Team allowance. It applies to everyone on the team, including its managers.
Which allowance wins#
- A person's own custom allowance.
- Otherwise, their team's allowance. If they're in several teams, the highest one.
- Otherwise, the company default.
Stop someone giving or receiving coins#
Go to Manage → Rewards → Settings → Who gives and receives.
- Don't give coins: their allowance is 0. They can still send kudos without coins.
- Don't receive coins: kudos, add-ons, and spot awards to them carry no coins. The sender keeps their coins and sees a note explaining why.
This suits contractors who shouldn't earn coins, or leaders who'd rather not give them.
